RTJ bags two more DIRTcar Nationals prelims at VSP
Ricky Thornton Jr. returned to the Koehler Motorsports No. 20RT Elite Chassis Modified this past week as the 55th annual Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals continued.
Thornton opened the event with a 14th-place finish on Friday before finding his rhythm early in the week. He followed a runner-up finish on Tuesday with a preliminary victory on Wednesday, joining teammates Evan and Jordan Koehler, who also claimed prelim wins.
After Thursday’s rainout, Thornton captured his second victory of the week on Friday, topping Cole Falloway.
He closed out the weekend with a spirited battle against Jordan in Saturday’s finale, with Jordan ultimately emerging on top.
