Thornton sidelined in Deuces Wild finale at Golden Isles Speedway

Returning with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) after Friday’s opener was wiped out by Mother Nature, Ricky Thornton Jr. entered the SSI Motorsports No. 20RT Late Model into battle at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) for Saturday’s rain-shortened Deuces Wild.

Forced to break out his secondary car for the $20,000-to-win feature after tagging the wall in his heat race while running second, Ricky climbed five positions before ultimately pulling off on lap 33.

Ricky remains atop the latest LOLMDS point standings.
