SSI Motorsports and Thornton attend Sunshine Nationals

Ricky Thornton Jr. returned to the driver’s seat of the SSI Motorsports No. 20RT Late Model on Thursday afternoon at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) to compete with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for the Sunshine Nationals. With rough track conditions forcing officials to run the feature on Friday afternoon, Ricky got caught behind a spinning car on the second circuit that resulted in an early exit.

Later Friday evening, Thornton Jr. took part in his heat race but was a scratch from his B-Main to save equipment.
