Early exit in Pete Abell Memorial at Ponderosa

On Friday afternoon SSI Motorsports pilot Ricky Thornton Jr. visited Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) for the Valvoline Iron-Man Series-sanctioned Pete Abell Memorial. In a field of 24 cars, Thornton Jr. edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a third-place finish in his B-Main. With recent rain showers making for rough track conditions, Ricky was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 29.
